Green Woodpeckers

I spent a fantastic day down in a hide run by Tom Robinson in South Lincolnshire. To say his hides are awesome is an understatement, they are heated and have a toilet. you can really tell that Tom has a passion for wildlife photography

his website is www.wildlife-photography-hides.co.uk/ go check it out.

We went down to photograph Green Woodpeckers, a UK species that are, not rare, but they are elusive and so hard to get close to. I've seen them in the past but never been fortunate to get the shot I was looking for. Until now.

I've attached a few of the photos I took.

Equipment used was a Nikon D850 and the 500mm F4E FL lens along with the Nikon 200-500 F5.6 lens.

Thanks Tom, I'm looking forward to visiting more often in the near future

Welcome

Welcome everyone to the first blog post on my new website, I hope you like the layout and content

Over the comming weeks and months I will be adding content such as equipment reviews, details of my recent shoots including locations and camera equipment used and just chatting in general on how my photography and the photography world in general is evolving.

Also stay tuned for details of my forthcoming Youtube channel.

Thats all for now but I will leave you with a recent image I took on a trip up to Rannoch moor, I hope you like it. Its not a unique image by any means but its a classic view and always worth a visit if your in this area.
